Recordings Performed

The recordings of the documentary film about the adventurer and environmentalist Pedal Joe took place in South Africa between May 23 and June 8.

The filmmakers Bruno Lima and Fabricio Menicucci found the character in a town called Bloemhof, just over 300 kilometers from Johannesburg. They recorded sereval interviews and images of the trip, which documented the peculiar way that Joe travels the world as well as the admiration and support he gets on the road.

On June 1st, at 3pm, Pedal Joe concluded his adventure arriving to Melrose Arch in Johannesburg, where he was welcomed by journalists, fans, members of the Lions Club and a Brazilian batucada. In numbers, the adventurer pedaled 17,300 kilometers over 3049 hours, passing through 21 countries: France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, the Congolese Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, Namibia and South Africa.

The material of the recordings is in Rio de Janeiro, where it will be edited and finalized. The forecast for the film's release is in early 2011.
